Marie-Charlotte Roques-Bonnet is a data protection and digital fundamental rights’ expert.
In a nutshell:
After being a University Teacher in Public Law and Digital (2002-2008), she joined CNIL as
Legal IT Expert (2010-2014) and Microsoft as Director of EMEA Privacy Policy (2014-2018).
She now leads - “ID side” start-up project, a user-centric web app designed to crowdsource & help better monitor our privacy online.
In more details:
Her Ph.D. in Public Communication Law on Digital Fundamental Rights was granted the first
Law Excellent Award attributed by the CNIL, leading to the update & public version release of her Academic Research in 2011 (« Can the Law ignore digital revolution? »).
She engaged in different multi-faceted initiatives, from contributing to Article 29 Working Party Technology Subgroup work on cloud computing & mobile devices regulation (2013) to being in the Board Member of the IAPP “Women Leading Privacy" (2015-2017), releasing 72 opensource Youtube videos on the GDPR (“EU Privacy for all” in 2016) or participating now to an EU Privacy Protection Consortium promoting a consistent & user-centric implementation of GDPR.
In almost 20 years now, she practiced data protection regulation from most angles: Academics,Regulatory, Privacy Professional and now Tech for Good Entrepreneurship.
